incidentally; The concert was announced on The Janice Long Evening show, BBC Radio 1 (FM), Monday 19th December 1988 (four days prior to the actual gig) Entrance would be free to anyone wearing a Smiths or Morrissey T-Shirt. 09:37
Morrissey had wanted the event to be a farewell Smiths concert as backing Moz were ex-band members Mike Joyce, Andy Rourke & Craig Gannon (Johnny declined).
The setlist was a mix of new Morrissey solo tracks with Smiths tracks from 1987, None of which had been performed in front of a live audience before.
